.....There are lots of reasons to write open source or cross-platform code. Joomla is by far the best and most polished of all the free open source content management programs. The way we found out about it was when we were trying to keep up to date with the new web standards. We use a web server that offers 52+ FREE scripts and an Instant script install program. This is becoming the standard of the industry in web serving. Many hosting companies use C-panel and Fantastico, by using these with your web hosting account, with a click of the mouse, you can instantly install a script without any programming knowledge. This is why and when we gave Joomla a try.
We are happy to tell all our members that you now can get joomla hosting at a low price.
So hosting for one year can be as low as $36 a year for any Joomla!™ user group central coast members.
....In ...In doing so, this opened up a whole new way to design web sites and keep up with the latest. This is what Web 2.0 is all about your ticket to make any type of media or idea come to life on your web site. In order to learn and work with Joomla we also had to learn other open source and cross-platform programs to build this type of web site, however you have to be willing to learn a little also to run a web site like this. For the most part this is the only cost.
....Now as the team leader of the Joomla! users Central Coast, have made a new web site, to work with our user site to help with support and communications between members who want to share and help other people learn more also.To have people and companies use open source software there needs to be more sites for with support and resources to make this type of software and the extensions used as a tool by people or companies. We made MacJoom and are trying to build a network of experts in different aspects of open source projects and programs. Helping people create web sites for their specific needs that do not have any knowledge and want to learn. Everyone can join it is FREE. Companies and people need help for their projects and people with skills need jobs this site is made to connect the two together. People that use the site can list their services too.
....To do this we have moved the videos and the photo gallery to this new web site called macjoom. This is so we do not have to maintain similar information on both sites and to give people additional information on the projects. The planet joomla.com web site will be about joomla only and will have information about meetings, events, a forum and links to joomla related joomla sites and articles about Joomla products and whats new in the world of Joomla. You can add you link to this site in the links and listing area.
We We will be using a new component on our Joomla!™ user group central coast site. However this component called K2 is still in a development stage and is not ready for use. We have been testing it and think it will be a great innovation and key upgrade to the publishing process of this web site. This will take some time to complete. So for the time being visit Macjoom for article reviews.
....The new site of user group is working on as a team is called Macjoom this will be for sharing information about Joomla and assisting technologies.
